A poem to capture the spirit of every nation competing at the 2012 Games. Regresso is by Amilcar Cabral from Guinea Bissau and read by Nelson de Oliveira Campos.

Regresso by Amilcar Cabral captures the rain falling on Cape Verde although Cabral is from Guinea Bissau. The poem is read by Nelson de Oliveira Campos, a trained Afro-Latin Dance teacher from Guinea Bissau now teaching in London.

Amilcar Cabral was seen as both a poet and a freedom fighter for Guinea Bissau, which gained it's independence in the 1970s.

Poetry 2012 - The Written World, a collaboration with the BBC and The Scottish Poetry Library, creating a unique picture of the nations of the world in verse.
