The Education Secretary Mike Russell has hit out at elite universities and says they should widen access. But is it fair to favour poor students over those with better grades? Graham asks: Should universities be forced to recruit students from poorer backgrounds? 

The number of four and five year olds going into Gaelic medium education is set to double (to about 800). Ministers see immersion classes as an important part of a five year plan to revitalise the endangered language. Graham asks: Would you want your child to learn Gaelic at school?
