Massacre reported in Syria, a history of Legionnaires disease, Foie Gras ban in California

Reports of another Syria massacre, the history of Legionnaires disease, USA defends drone attacks, a former child soldier speaks about her ordeal, and a solar-powered pilot speaks.

Opposition activists say 86 people, including many women and children, have been killed by pro-government forces in Hama province in Syria. The reports can't be independently verified, but Sami Ibrahim, an activist in Homs, tells us that bullets and shells were used in the attack.
Investigations are continuing to find the cause of an outbreak of Legionnaires Disease in Edinburgh. We look back at the first outbreak of Legionnaires in Philadelphia in 1976. Dr Stephen Thacker's first ever day at work saw him trying to work out what the new illness was and what caused it. He tells us it was very scary because it was the first new bacterium which had been found in 40 years.

The United States is defending the use of drones in attacks to try to kill Al Qaeda members in Pakistan. They're controversial in Pakistan, and some Americans aren't happy either. The Democratic Congressman, Dennis Kucinich, who represents Ohio, says drones leave the USA looking morally bankrupt on the world stage.

A United Nations report has found nearly 600 African children have been kidnapped and forced into Joseph Kony's Lords Resistance Army since 2009. Grace Akallo, a former child soldier, tells us about her experiences. She says trying to escape was useless because if you did, you'd just be caught and killed by the army you were part of, or caught and killed by their rivals.
California is about to ban Foie Gras, but everyone's eating the last of it there while they still have a chance. Josiah Citrin, chef and owner of the two Michelin star Melisse Restaurant in Santa Monica says the ban will reduce tax dollars in California as it'll mean fewer companies making foie gras.

And did you hear the one about the solar-powered plane? Bertrand Picard has just flown from Madrid to Rabat in Morocco in a plane covered in solar cells. He tells us it's all about making solar power seem sexy.
