One of the most famous flat races in the world, the Derby was first run in 1780. Contested over one mile, four furlongs and ten yards of picturesque Surrey countryside, the roll of honour includes legendary horses such as Seabird, Mill Reef and Shergar. The list of winning jockeys is no less illustrious, featuring the likes of Lester Piggott, Walter Swinburn and Frankie Dettori.
