Guy Barker returns to the Cheltenham Jazz Festival to celebrate the legendary soul singer Ray Charles, live from the Big Top in Montpellier Gardens. Recorded in May 2012.

Friday Night Is Music Night celebrates the legendary soul singer Ray Charles in a concert recorded at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in May 2012.

Guy Barker and the BBC Concert Orchestra take a journey through Ray's life and music, with vocalist Gregory Porter, Madeline Bell, James Tormé and the BBC Big Band.

The recipient of many national and international awards, Ray received 13 Grammy Awards, and enjoyed commercial success with Georgia on My Mind, What I'd Say, Hit The Road Jack, and I've Got a Woman. These hit songs, and many others, can be heard tonight.
