Ten shy children who love to sing are put through their paces by choirmaster Gareth Malone. Gareth wants the group to learn how to convey their emotions through song.

As they approach the halfway stage of The Big Performance 2 tour, Gareth decides it is time for the group to raise their game. He has been building the shy singers' confidence in preparation for their final performance on Children in Need night, and so far has managed to get the group enjoying singing for the first time. 

Now, however, he wants to get the vocals up to scratch, so he has picked a musical theme to stretch them - British soul. By choosing the Adele track One and Only, Gareth wants the group to learn how to convey their emotions through their singing in order to face their toughest performance challenge to date - singing for a bride and groom on their wedding day, in front of all their guests. 

Performing at such a meaningful event is a daunting task, and they must give a heartfelt performance. So Gareth calls on help from singing sensation Dionne Bromfield, who at 15 is already one of the leading names in British soul. Seeing such an impressive performance by someone only a few years older than them inspires the timid singers, including soloist Imogen - how will she get on with such a soulful song? Having been bullied by boys for her hair colour and stutter when she was younger, Imogen must face her fears to improve her performance, so Gareth arranges for her to sing for some boys from the school next door for her solo challenge. 

Back with the rest of the group, and with the wedding to sing at, there is no room for errors. Can the whole group hold their nerve and give a performance worthy of this special day?
