Derbyshire singer-songwriter John Tams tells Mike how he wrote the songs for the internationally successful National Theatre stage play of War Horse.

This week, as Steven Spielberg's film adaptation of War Horse is released in UK cinemas, Derbyshire singer-songwriter John Tams tells Mike how he wrote the songs for the internationally successful National Theatre stage play.

The War Horse production, based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, is now enjoying extended runs in the West End, on Broadway and in Toronto, with tours planned for America and Europe.

John tells to Mike how he came to be involved in the phenomenon and talks about its implications for British folk music.
