The Tahrir Square occupation continues. Could Syria be sliding into outright civil war?

Rhod Sharp speaks to Ashraf in Cairo as he heads to Tahrir Square, and the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria in the UK outlines his hopes for the future of Egypt.

After the announcement by the head of the Egyptian military, Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, that presidential elections would be held by July 201,2 the crowds in Cairo's Tahrir Square remain. Rhod Sharp spoke to Ashraf as he and his wife set off for the demonstrations.
 
Bishop Angaelos, the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria in the UK, told us about his hopes for the future of Egypt and the place Coptic Christians will have in it.
 
After a meeting with the Turkish Prime Minister, David Cameron has warned that Syria is slipping towards a full-scale civil war. It's a position that Professor Barry Rubin, the director of the Global Research in International Affairs centre in Israel, agrees with. He explained his concerns to Rhod.
 
Danielle Mitterand, the widow of former French President Francois Mitterand, has died aged 87. The former first lady was a member of the Resistance in the Second World War and met her husband when she was on the run from the Gestapo. A friend of Cuban leader Fidel Castro, she also campaigned on behalf of the Kurds and Tibetans. Benedicte Paviot, a journalist with the French broadcaster France 24, explained why this remarkable woman deserves a state funeral.
