Snowtown director Justin Kurzell discusses his uncompromising crime movie, which is already being described as one of the most unnerving serial killer films ever made.

The Awakening - We review this remarkable new film. Set in post-World War I England in 1921. It follows a sceptical woman (REBECCA HALL) who travels to a countryside boarding school to investigate rumours of an apparent haunting. Just when she thinks she has debunked the ghost theory, she has a chilling spectral encounter which defies all her rational beliefs. 

Pasquale Iannone's Guide to films on 'Exploration' - As part of BBC Scotland Explorer Season, writer and broadcaster, Dr Pasquale Iannone discusses some hidden gems in the film world which have dealt with the whole business of 'Exploration'. 

'Snowtown' - Director Justin Kurzel discusses Snowtown his debut feature which charts the terrible loss of innocence of Jamie Vlassakis, (LUCAS PITTAWAY,) as Jamie comes under the spell of the notorious serial killer John Bunting( DANIEL HENSHALL) in the late 1990s. The film is unrelentingly grim, brutal, and uncompromising, but already it has staked a claim as one of the best Australian films ever made.

Our DVD Pick of the Week is Touch of Evil - Orson Welles supremely confident and stylish noir classic; the film stands as one of the finest examples of the genre. Dr Pasquale Iannone discusses this great work in which quintessential Wellesian themes of evil, corruption, and moral ambiguity loom large. 

Misleading Trailers: A woman in Michigan has recently tried to sue the makers of the film, Drive as she says the trailer was misleading! Some trailers bare no resemblance to the films they are meant to promote. Film Critics, Jane Graham and Eddie Harrison give examples, discuss misleading trailers and explore how trailers can almost be an art form in themselves.
