Tomas Eloy Martinez
Argentine writer Tomas Eloy Martinez spent much of his life in exile. His final novel, Purgatory, which has just been published posthumously in English is both a  satirical novel about Argentina's military dictatorship in the 1970s and a love story.  Academic Oscar Guardiola-Rivera tells The Strand why he admires Martinez' work.
