From a bright school leaver's perspective, university is the way to go: you'll get a degree and hopefully a good job at the end of it. But will you? And is that really what it's all about?

In the first of two programmes probing the value of a degree in Scotland today, Robin Drummond examines what it is he will get out of a degree if he's successful in applying to university. He speaks to students, graduates and some who haven't graduated but have done perfectly well without a degree, all to determine whether he's really making the right decision in filling in that UCAS form.
