As Jean-Claude Trichet prepares to step down as president of the European Central bank, we look back on his eight years in the top job. 

A group of leading economists has launched the campaign for a 'Plan B' to get the economy back on track, demanding more government spending and calling for the controversial Financial Transaction Tax on the City. 

With youth unemployment at almost one million, the CBI has suggested companies are given tax breaks to employ hire under 25s. 

Finally, disability charity, Scope, is launching a £20 million bond programme to generate funding.
