Nicola and Jimmy Cliff from Leeds want to start a new life in Australia, and build a better future for their three young boys. Bricklayer Jimmy has struggled to find work in the UK and hopes Australia will give him the chance to provide for his family. But with Nicola reluctant to leave all her family and friends, Jimmy has one week to convince her that a move down under is right for them.
