Yo- Yo Ma
He's one of the world's most renowned classical cellists, but never afraid to work in other musical circles. On his latest album he's working with bluegrass players; including mandolin player Chris Thile.

Nobel Laureate 
The Swedish poet Tomas  Transtromer has been awarded this year's Nobel Prize for Literature.  The Strand celebrates his work.

Shahidul Alam 
In London for a career retrospective, the Bangladeshi photographer reflects on why he devotes his life to enabling people to tell their own stories through their own pictures.

Hell and Back Again
It's being billed as a work of cinema and Danfung Dennis' war documentary shot in extraordinary HD gets closer to US Marines than most other work.  We talk to Danfung.  

Grayson Perry: Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman
We visit the British Museum to meet British potter and contemporary artist, Grayson Perry, who has curated an installation of his own work alongside objects made by unknown men and women throughout history.

Warriors
"Warriors of the Rainbow" is an epic new Taiwanese film based on a true story of an indigenous people's rebellion against the Japanese in the 1930s.
