Thelma and Louise, 20 years on. Has cinema really changed for women?

The Clock at the CCA: We hear about Christian Marclay's highly acclaimed 24 hour film - set to be shown in its entirety, at Glasgow's CCA. The Clock is a montage of clips from several thousand films, showing scenes featuring clocks and watches, or situations indicating a particular time of day. Presenting an extraordinary patchwork history of film, it also functions as an actual timepiece, always conveying the correct time, minute by minute, wherever it is shown. 

'KUNG FU PANDA 2' - Director JENNIFER YUH NELSON discusses Kung Fu panda 2; from the studio that brought us 'Shrek' and the Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated 'Kung Fu Panda' comes the latest adventure of one of the most unlikely heroes ever to transition from noodle shop employee to kung fu master! 


The Bridge on the River Kwai is our DVD Pick Of The Week - This classic film, among the most prized in the Columbia Pictures catalogue, features William Holden and Alec Guinness (Oscar(R) Winner for Best Actor, The Bridge on the River Kwai, 1957) as World War II prisoners whose opposing missions in the Burmese jungle collide with devastating effects.

Campbeltown Picture House is the second of our series of features in which we're focussing on Scotland's rich heritage of cinemas - buildings which have not only been listed because of their architectural merit, but have also played an important part in enabling audiences all over the country to enjoy the special magic which is a night out at the movies. This week Bob Dickson has travelled to Kintyre to visit a cinema which is almost a hundred years old.

Thelma and Louise: 20 Years On: It is 20 years since Thelma and Louise was released; a movie that resonated with people in a profound way, but it's a movie that people still think about fondly, yet sadly it is a movie that never effected any long term change for women in Hollywood. We discuss the reasons why with Melissa Silverstein.
