Edi Stark discovers whether the pace of stem cell research is meeting expectation.

Stem cells research is a great hope for sufferers of degenerative diseases. Scotland is a hotbed for this research. Edi discovers how this work could pass from bench to bedside.

15 years ago Dolly the sheep brought world attention to Scotland. Since then the research has contined, and Dolly's creators are working not with clones, but stem cells, in an area that holds great promise for radical new treatments in a raft of medical areas. 

15 years ago multiple sclerosis and motor neurone disease patients were waiting desperately for treatments. Today they still are. 

Edi Stark discovers what stage this stem cell work is at in Scottish laboratories, and learns how some despairing patients of neurodegenerative conditions can be exploited by clinics purporting to offer stem cell cures.
