Ruth faces a big decision. Robbie shows Nicole how beautiful she is. Bob helps Iona.

Ruth faces a big decision when she returns home from hospital. Robbie shows Nicole how beautiful she really is. And Big Bob comes to Iona's rescue.

Ruth arrives home from hospital, disappointed to find that Liz is looking after Eilidh - she can't wait to see her daughter. Gina tries to be welcoming, but ends up embarrassed as she still feels guilty for Ruth being sectioned in the first place. Meanwhile, Scott is getting his affairs in order, preparing for his new life with Victor in Cumbria. Ruth goes to Liz's to see Eilidh only to be told that Jimmy took her to nursery along with Madonna. Ruth then bangs into Scott and is shocked to learn of his plans to move away. Scott himself is surprised that neither Gina nor Jo told her. Ruth confronts Gina with this, only to discover Gina didn't want to burden her. Ruth also confronts Jo, but Jo is more concerned with ensuring Ruth doesn't go to the nursery to pick up Eilidh. As they are talking a social worker arrives at the door and drops the bombshell that Gina has been enquiring about taking custody of Eilidh. Ruth goes to Gina to challenge her on this, but Gina reminds her that it was she who instigated the process. Just then Eilidh arrives home with Jimmy, Scarlett and Madonna. Mother and daughter are delighted to be reunited, but Scarlett feels she has to tell Ruth that some people are still wary of her, and Eilidh is being called names at nursery. Ruth and Eilidh go to the health centre, but Ruth is shocked to find that Michael has employed an agency nurse, and doesn't want Ruth to come to work again for at least a couple of months. Ruth meets Scott on her way home. He is shutting up Carly's Cafe for good, and would be glad to spend one last evening with his oldest friend.

Back at Ruth's, Ruth pours her heart out to Scott, and is just getting stuck into a bottle of wine when the social worker reappears - bad timing. Scott says his goodbyes, and they both put a brave face on it in front of one another before eventually letting the tears roll. Ruth is watching Eilidh sleep when Scott returns - he wants her to come and live with him and Victor. Ruth thinks for a moment before saying...yes! But what about Gina? Gina is not happy when Ruth explains the news. Jo is more understanding, but Gina can't give the move her blessing. Waiting at the station, Ruth is slightly forlorn until suddenly Jo arrives to say her goodbyes - but no Gina. However, just as they are about to board the train Gina arrives, apologising, before sharing a tearful goodbye with Ruth.

Iona takes receipt of a fabulous wedding cake for a friend's nuptials. She and Stella are admiring it and also poking fun at Big Bob's foibles when he arrives, overhearing. Bob leaves despondent. Later, while cleaning the Deli, Iona accidentally knocks over the wedding cake, ruining it. Stella suggests she ask Big Bob the master baker for help, but Iona doesn't want to go there. Instead, Iona asks Gina for help, but the filigree is too complex for her, so Iona has to ask Bob - reluctantly. Bob is cheered by this turnaround, and wants to prove himself to Iona. He commandeers the Tall Ship kitchen like a master surgeon and gets to work. Bob excels himself and, with the cake repaired, he reflects on the mess he made of his relationship with Iona. She tries to pay him for his work, but he'd rather just have a sit down and a chat with her. But Iona isn't too keen to spend more time with Bob. She tells him that they work best when they're just friends, and that's how she'd like things to be from now on. Bob accepts this, but in his heart he is devastated.

Robbie is trying to make things up with Hayley by making sure the salon is in good order while she takes some time off, so he enlists the glum Nicole to help him out. He senses she is down, and assumes rightly that it is about a boy, but he finds it hard to get her to open up. He offers to give her a makeover after school to cheer her up. As Robbie works his magic, he tries to reassure Nicole - telling parables of the follies of trying to be someone you're not. When he shows her the finished makeover she is confused - he hasn't done anything. Thinking it is some cruel joke, Nicole becomes upset until Robbie explains to her that he's just trying to show her that she's perfect already. This cheers her so that when she bangs into Nick she is confident enough to be adult and polite. Later on, she sends a text to Nick, which reads, "Good to see you today xxx".
