John and Penny are looking to buy an old property in need of major work which they then hope to transform into their forever home.

But the last time Penny and John did building work on any scale was 27 years ago.

Jules Hudson is on hand to help them assess exactly what scale of renovation they would ultimately want to take on.

He sends them to see a 17th-century farmhouse which comes with a magnificent barn just ripe for conversion, and introduces them to the owners of two houses that have been renovated the hard way...and the easy way.
