Carmen 3D director Julian Napier discusses his pioneering new version of the world's most popular opera.

Carmen 3D: Director JULIAN NAPIER discusses his pioneering new version of the world's most popular Opera 'CARMEN'. A co-production by RealD and the internationally renowned Royal Opera House, 'CARMEN 3D' marks a new era for opera, distributed to cinemas in state-of-the-art, dazzling digital 3D. It offers an immersive entertainment experience that will transport audiences to the illustrious Royal Opera House and into the thick of it's expansive production.

Alternative Content in Cinemas - Cinecasting: We explore the ever- growing market for live cinecast coverage, live event screenings and alternative content in movie picture houses up and down the country. Usually, a visit to a cinema is for film and a trip to an opera house or theatre is for, opera houses and theatres, but Cinemas in Scotland have been bringing live opera direct from stage to the big screen for some time now, and, with the news that the National Theatre are soon to bring live screenings of 'Frankenstein' (directed by Danny Boyle) into Cineworld cinemas, the time is right to ask if our cinemas spaces are changing. Alison Gardner from the GFT explains all.

Fair Game - An incredible true story, based on the memoir of VALERIE PLAME, former CIA operative and wife of former U.S. Ambassador JOSEPH WILSON, 'FAIR GAME' tells the story of how Valerie's secret career became public shortly after her husband authored a New York Times 'op-ed' piece accusing the Bush administration of manipulating intelligence to justify the invasion of Iraq. The film stars Naomi Watts as Plame, and Oscar-winning Sean Penn as Wilson. We hear from their real life counter-parts VALERIE PLAME and JOSEPH WILSON.

Our DVD Pick of the Week is the Empire State - the highly stylized and critically acclaimed eighties clubland thriller available for the first time in a double-disc BLU-RAY and DVD that packs a punch with some heavyweight special features.

And 'Roeg's Gallery' - as the Filmhouse in Edinburgh celebrates the work of Nic Roeg this month with a special season of his work, demonstrating the visionary spirit that has produced an fascinating series of works in which taboos are embraced and explored, Pasquale Iannone explains why he remains one of cinema's most influential mavericks.
