BBC Radio 3 - Jazz Line-Up, Christmas Special

Julian Joseph presents a Christmas special, including music from the BBC Big Band.

Julian Joseph presents a Christmas special from Whitgift School, Croydon featuring the BBC Big Band under Barry Forgie. Julian performs music from his children's opera Shadowball.

Jazz Line-Up's Christmas Show goes to Whitgift School, Croydon and stages the BBC Big Band conducted by Barry Forgie, featuring and presented by Julian Joseph.
In this special programme star music pupils from the school will get the opportunity to perform an item with the Big Band especially written for them by Barry Forgie.
Radio 3's New Generation Jazz Artist, Shabaka Hutchings will be performing with the band, and also Julian Joseph is at the piano, playing music from his Children's Opera 'Shadowball'. The BBC Big Band perform traditional music given a modern arrangement for band by such luminaries as Steve Gray and Dick Walter.
