Leicester University sets out the consequences of higher tuition fees.

A Higher Education funding report is released, Liverpool FC goes to court, the dispute over Scottish mackerel rumbles on and mobile firm Vertu have created a £200k handset.

A government inquiry into Higher Education funding by former BP boss Lord Browne, is to recommend doubling the cost of university courses and making students pay a market rate of interest on their student loans. We speak to Richard Taylor, a spokesperson for Leicester University who has researched the consequences of higher tuition fees.

The battle over Liverpool FC's future goes to court today, as new revelations come to light about a second bidder for the club from Singapore. The programme hears from Lawrence Gosling, editor of Football Monthly.

A meeting between the EU, Norway, Iceland and the Faroe Islands takes place later, to try and find a resolution to the dispute over increased mackerel fishing in the North Atlantic. Ian Gatt, chief executive of the Scottish Pelagic Fishermen's Association, tells us how much damage is being done to Scottish mackerel stocks.

Mobile phone firm Vertu has created a handset worth a staggering £200,000. For that, you get a hand-made mobile with a sapphire screen and rubies used as the bearings. We ask Perry Oosting, the President of Vertu, who would buy such an expensive phone.
