Alex returns to kickstart your week on the Best Time of the Day Show, entertaining you through the wee small hours with lively and unpredictable chat and a great selection of tunes. With the World Cup approaching, Alex puts his own unique spin on it, without even mentioning the game at all. Apparently it involves a ball. Threads include "World Cup-a-Soup", and "Spectator Sport", in which we apply football-style commentary to our own lives. Find out why Jimmy's missus gave him a red card this weekend! 
There is a new Record of the Week from Manchester band, I Am Kloot, and a new Album of the Week from Oasis; hear a track from it every morning this week. From Lester's Library there are tracks from country artist Darryl Worley, and world music artist, Angelique Kidjo featuring Bono and John Legend. The Listener's Library track is a lesser-known vintage Roy Orbison track. Pause for Thought at 3.20am is from Richard Littledale.
