On tonight's Night Waves: Anne McElvoy talks to Martha Nussbaum, one of American's most influential philosophers, about her new book, 'Not for Profit: Why Democracy Needs the Humanities' - looking at why she believes what Americans call "the liberal arts" are under real threat. 

Nina Bawden talks about her inclusion on the short list of the Lost Booker Prize of 1970, and how it feels to have a book she wrote 40 years ago - about a middle class family struggling to cope with a wayward child - back in the public gaze.

And why is Anne Boleyn at the heart of the new Tudormania? Michael Hirst, creator of TV blockbuster The Tudors, George Bernard, Boleyn's latest biographer, and literary critic Helen Hackett discuss.

And as the Museum of London reopens its Galleries of Modern London after a three year re-development, historian of London Vanessa Harding joins Anne to look at how the capital has reflected political developments, social change and even fashion in Britain and abroad.
