A half hour interview with interesting and prominent people from around the world with a great range of interests and opinions. Each week, one person is put under the spotlight by either Owen Bennett-Jones or Carrie Gracie, the two presenters on The Interview.  

They explore topical issues, personal motivation and interviewee's hopes and fears. The style is informal and conversational, but at times searching and combative when required.

Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie talks about her generation.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie tells Carrie Gracie how she tackles the problems caused by racism, sexism and colonialism, and how she thinks her generation can turn Nigeria around.

The author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie grew up in Nigeria and says it was only when she went to America to study at the age of 19 that she became aware of the labels black and African. 

She talks to Carrie Gracie about how she has tackled the problems caused by race, gender politics and her country's colonial history, and how she thinks her generation can turn Nigeria around.
