Sunderland have made a promising start to life under Steve Bruce, and the Wearsiders travel to Tottenham, who have also enjoyed good early-season form. One Sunderland player who will relish the visit to White Hart Lane is Darren Bent, who never managed to find favour under manager Harry Redknapp, and who was sold to Sunderland over the summer despite being Tottenham's leading scorer in 2008/09.

Manchester City and Burnley are at opposing ends of the Premier League's rich list, but the Clarets were successful against the red half of Manchester earlier in the season and will be up for a battle against Mark Hughes' multi-million-pound men in their afternoon game.

Bolton have conceded four goals on each of their last two visits to Aston Villa - how will they fare on their latest trip to the West Midlands? Arsenal have won their previous eight matches against Wolves, and it's 30 years since Wanderers enjoyed victory over the Gunners, suggesting Mick McCarthy's men will be up against it in their match at home to Arsenal.

The day's other game sees Blackburn and Portsmouth meet at Ewood Park. The teams met in a relegation battle at the end of the 2008/09 season, and it already looks as if both will again be fighting to stave off the drop in this campaign.
