Part two begins at the start of the 1990s with the explosion of gangster rap, then examines the battle between East and West Coasts, and takes an in-depth look at the role of money and power in hip hop. 

Goldie looks at the rapid commercial increase of hip hop as a culture; from corporate branding and artist endorsements, to successful business ventures away from music and the presidential pulling power of today's massive rap stars.

Moving away from America, the documentary explores how this once niche musical genre came to dominate popular culture around the world. Contributors include DJ Kool Herc, Afrika Bambaataa and Grandmaster Flash, plus legends Run DMC, Beastie Boys, Suge Knight, MC Hammer and Eminem.
