BBC Scotland's business editor Douglas Fraser speaks to General Electric's new boss for Northern Europe, Mark Elborne. GE is one of the biggest companies in the world with interests in healthcare, finance and media, as well as energy. But, as Mark explains, such a multi-faceted organisation isn't immune to recession.

Jamie McIvor reports on why the government intends to take the East Coast rail service, run by National Express, into state ownership. And Katie Silvester, editor of Rail Professional magazine, offers her view on the problems of the rail franchising system.

Finally, our very own Douglas Fraser is back, along with Justin Urquhart-Stewart of Seven Investment Management, to discuss the deepening recession in a week that saw Diageo announce plans to cut 900 Scottish jobs and Lloyds Banking Group a further 2,000 jobs.
