100 Women

Stacey Cunningham

Duration: 30 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC WORLD NEWS EuropeLatest broadcast: on BBC WORLD NEWS North America

Stacey Cunningham crashed through Wall Street's glass ceiling this year to become the first woman to head up the New York Stock Exchange in its 226 year history. She began her career on the trading floor, at the time one of just a couple of dozen women. The stock exchange is a changing world - where once the trades would all be done by people, now computer algorithms do much of the work. Some things aren't all that different though, there are still few women on the trading floor. Samira Hussain spoke to Stacey Cunningham about thriving in a male dominated industry and being at the helm of a powerful international institution. Show less
