Jo Brand on Grayson Perry

Duration: 30 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC WORLD NEWS North AmericaLatest broadcast: on BBC WORLD NEWS North America

Grayson Perry is one of the UK's most popular living artists, celebrated for his wry depictions of British society and his astute commentary on the Art market. Now a new exhibition opening at Margate's Turner Contemporary in May will provide a unique survey of Perry's most subversive works from the 1980s to the present day - reminding us that, although the artist is now an establishment figure, his work is firmly rooted in post-punk radicalism.

In this latest episode of Private View, not only will the audience get exclusive access to the works on display in 'Grayson Perry: Provincial Punk', but they will also benefit from the personal insight of another post-punk radical who has since gone mainstream. Jo Brand was one of the most edgy and uncompromising figures on the 1980s comedy circuit. Dubbed "The Sea Monster", she built her career on hilarious and outrageous social observation. For the BBC audience, she will bring out the humour and context of Perry's tapestries, ceramics and sculptures - helping us understand their true seditious energy. Show less
