Recep Tayyip Erdogan has dominated Turkish politics, first as prime minister now as president, for more than a decade. Last week, his Justice and Development Party, known as AK, lost its parliamentary majority. With it went Mr Erdogan's dream of a more powerful presidency. Etyen Mahcupyan was until recently senior adviser to the Prime Minister.
