Against the backdrop of the border protests in April-May 2018, Gaza Dreams goes deep inside the minds of the people of Gaza to explore the mental health issues that most affect them.

A psychiatrist explains why so many people suffer from psychological problems, and how these affect them. A suicidal young man desperately wants to get out of Gaza to reunite with his beloved in Tunisia. A singer dreams of a better life through song, but cannot leave. Like so many young men in Gaza, he turned to Tramadol as his way out. A young child talks about her deep fears of war. A father of seven explains how and why he suffered from severe depression and anxiety, but managed to get better. Deeply personal testimonies and dramatic footage of the protests reveal Gaza as it has never been seen before. Depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and drug abuse are direct results of the wars and blockades that the people of Gaza have suffered. How do they cope?
