Courtney Love's Women

Episode 3: From New Zealand to Juvie

Duration: 1 hour

First broadcast: on 6 MusicLatest broadcast: on 6 Music

Available for 2 months

Courtney travels to the southern hemisphere via Europe as we discover her keen ear for Swedish and francophone pop music. Courtney reminisces on her time at an all-girl boarding school in New Zealand and also recounts how being declared “legally incorrigible” lead to a spell in juvie after some deliberate criminality. As ever with Courtney, all roads lead back to California as she regales Rob with anecdotes about possible familial links to Marlon Brando, as well as how she attempted to creatively matchmake Stevie Nicks and Billy Corgan. Skipping across the Commonwealth, we end up back in the UK, speculating on the origins of the phrase ‘Brass in Pocket’.
