Nigel Havers welcomes sellers of collectibles and curiosities to the Bidding Room's new home in Edinburgh, where they attempt to ply their wares to five dealers.

Rosie is first through the doors, with a family heirloom that she thinks has been kept under wraps for too long. A needlework sampler book that’s been passed to the fourth generation of the same family is not being fully appreciated locked away in a drawer, so the time has come to move it on – which of the dealers will cherish it enough to give it a good home?

Next up is Becky with her friend Natalie. They’re on a mission to raise some money for a much-needed spa break by selling a prop from Becky’s wedding. They’re hoping the American postbox will receive some big bids from the dealers – they’re looking for treatments and everything!

Third in is Cameron, with something he hopes the dealers will fall head over heels for – his mid-century anatomy figure could get hearts racing in the Bidding Room, where these objects have sold well in the past.

John is the next seller to arrive at Edinburgh HQ, with a loft find that should have the dealers seeing double. His Edwardian stereoscope could interest science enthusiast Jacqui, but will she or any of the other dealers reach Simon’s expert valuation and help John on his way to Florida for a family holiday?

Finally, keen car boot buyers Kirsty and Mike are ready to sell a piece of Troika pottery from their extensive collection. Are they sitting on a pot of gold?

The dealers today are Jacqui, Adi, Jo, JB and Ian. Show less
