Strictly stars Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice’s epic journey through Spain comes to an emotional end as they leave Madrid behind and head to the Basque region in the north of the county, where Anton used to visit his grandparent’s village with his family as a small boy for the summer.

First stop is San Sebastián. After sampling the local cheesecake, which Anton hasn’t enjoyed since he was a child, the boys meet up with fellow Strictly star and Basque local Gorka Márquez for a whistlestop of tour of Gorka’s homeland and its unique culture, taking in food such as the bite-sized Basque pintxo, the region’s rural sports, herri kirola, and surfing before visiting Bilbao and the world-renowned Guggenheim Museum.

For the final part of their journey, Anton and Giovanni are joined by Anton’s wife Hannah, his twin son and daughter and a very special guest, Anton’s mum Conchita, as they head back to Conchita’s village, a place Anton hasn’t seen in over 40 years, before returning to Bilbao for the city’s biggest festival of the year.
