Wigan v Penrith – The World Club Challenge

Duration: 2 hours, 44 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Two EnglandLatest broadcast: on Red Button One

Super League champions Wigan Warriors take on Australia’s NRL winners Penrith Panthers for the right to be crowned the greatest rugby league club side on the planet.

With home advantage and a packed DW Stadium cheering them on, Matt Peet’s Warriors will be looking to beat a star-studded Panthers outfit and lift this title for a record-equalling fifth time. It is one of the biggest matches of the season, and in speedsters Bevan French and Jai Field playing alongside a powerhouse pack, Wigan will more than fancy their chances.

The Panthers, however, have proven class in every position, having won three Premiership titles in succession with Australia’s World Cup-winning half-back Nathan Cleary, the multi-talented danger man who makes them tick.
