It takes the skills, local knowledge and teamwork of multiple emergency and rescue agencies when a woman falls in a notorious part of the Ogwen Valley. After slipping on rocks in a place known as Devil’s Kitchen, she’s in agony and can’t move, leaving the mountain rescue and coastguard helicopter teams with the challenge of how to get her off the mountain to safety. Before that, they must negotiate encouraging her to take enough pain medication, so she can be winched to the helicopter and airlifted to hospital.
Mountain rescue face a more unusual call-out: a sheep is stuck in a mineshaft and will die if not brought up to safety. Willing to help any living creature in danger, two volunteers abseil to reach it. Unfortunately, the sheep isn’t overly keen.
In Porthmadog, it’s every parent’s worst nightmare when a teenage boy is missing on a mountainside in pitch darkness. The police drone unit joins forces with volunteer rescue teams in a bid to find him and bring him back to his anxious parents. Show less
