Jamie has a festive selection box of music to share, including recordings from this year’s Cumnock Tryst and music created by community groups and composers working with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Sir James MacMillan. Performances feature Strings N Things, Things Tae Dae and the Cumnock Tryst Festival Chorus, as well as music by Ayrshire composers Jay Capperauld, Gillian Walker and Michael Murray.
There’s a brand new telling of the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, with music by Tchaikovsky, narrated by actor Alan Cumming with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and conductor John Mauceri. As the RSNO chorus celebrates its 180th anniversary with special performances of Handel’s Messiah this January, we hear from Chorus Director Stephen Doughty. Show less
