Jackie Bird travels across Scotland to shine a light on unsung heroes and community champions, members of the public who have gone above and beyond to make the country a better place to live. With appearances and tributes from the likes of Chris Packham, Gregor Townsend, Libby Clegg, KT Tunstall and Dermot Kennedy, plus the theatre cast of Dirty Dancing.

Jackie meets a wildlife photographer from East Calder nicknamed The Birdman for rescuing injured birds, travels to Dumfries to play a prank on a community hero and interrupts a live theatre performance of Dirty Dancing to surprise a disability champion.

She also heads to Aberdeen to meet a rugby fanatic raising money in honour of his best friend and surprises Korean War veterans in Dundee with a special performance. It’s Christmas and time to say thank you to Scotland’s People 2023. Show less
