Duration: 33 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One LondonLatest broadcast: on BBC One Wales HD

Available for 22 days

Pam Rhodes visits St Mary the Virgin church in Turville, Oxfordshire – perhaps better known as the Vicar of Dibley’s parish church – to discover some of the stories behind our favourite Christmas carols. Hymn and carol expert Andrew Gant takes Pam from the church to the village pub to explain how carols historically began as folk songs before becoming a regular part of Christmas church services. We also find out which carol our Songs of Praise presenters have chosen as their favourite. Show less
