The FA Cup

2023/24

First Round: Bromley v Blackpool

Duration: 2 hours, 29 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC Two EnglandLatest broadcast: on Red Button HD

Available for 12 months

Coverage as non-league Bromley take on League One's Blackpool, with the Londoners hoping to reach the FA Cup second round for the first time in 78 years.

Bromley’s manager, Andy Woodman, is the best friend of England boss Gareth Southgate and already has cup pedigree, having led his side to victory at Wembley in the 2022 FA Trophy final against Wrexham courtesy of a Michael Cheek goal. Cheek has also been in fine goalscoring form this season, helping his team mount a promotion challenge in the National League.

Blackpool famously lifted the FA Cup in 1953, with star winger Stanley Matthews and hat-trick hero Stan Mortensen inspiring them to a 4-3 win against Bolton. The Seasiders beat the Premier League's Nottingham Forest in the third round last season but have also been on the wrong end of several giant-killings in recent years, including a defeat to non-league Boreham Wood in 2017.
