This programme features performances by musical stars from Scotland, Ireland, and the US, including Joan Osborne, Declan O’Rourke and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Fans of ‘Transatlantic Sessions’ can also see the astonishing playing of Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan and Ronan Browne in a frenzied instrumental “Unionhouse Branch” and Muireann features alongside Ireland’s button accordion extraordinaire Sharon Shannon as well as Jim Murray on the beautiful Irish song “The Leaving of Limerick”. Closing the programme, Julie joins Scots singer, Emily Smith, for an uplifting performance of “Caledonia”.
