Sort Your Life Out

Series 3

Episode 2

Duration: 57 minutes

First broadcast: on BBC One WestLatest broadcast: on BBC Two Northern Ireland

Available for 10 months

Stacey and her gang – carpenter Rob, cleaner Iwan and special guest Mrs Hinch, who’s standing in for Dilly – challenge the Farrow family to sort their life out in seven days. To achieve this, they’ll have to embark on a mammoth declutter. They ask the family to try and let go of half their possessions, so that they can then beautifully reorganise their home.

With Stacey’s help, the family start packing all their possessions into boxes. Every single item is stripped from the family home, revealing how much space there is under all their things. We get to know the family behind the clutter – Essex-born-and-bred Andy and Lianne and their three kids Rys, Connor and Amber. Whilst the farm runs like clockwork, the inside of their rented farmhouse is overrun with coats, shoes and laundry.

With the house all packed up, the family’s possessions are laid out in a giant warehouse like an art installation of their entire lives, including 32 rolls of wallpaper, 81 satchels and handbags, and 241 balls of wool. With everything displayed in front of them, the family are shocked to see how much they really own and how it all fitted into their house in the first place.

There will be emotional moments as the family go through their most treasured items. Mum Lianne struggles to see her kids letting go of their toys in the warehouse, and Andy comes to terms with his own responsibility and guilt over the state of the house.

Back at their home, carpenter Rob breathes new life into the house, with some ingenious carpentry for Lianne’s new crafting section, whilst Iwan and Mrs Hinch give the home a supersized spring clean, with lots of useful tips along the way.

After two long days in the warehouse, it’s down to Stacey and the team to unpack their remaining, must-keep items back at Lianne and Andy’s, and transform it into a stylish and organised home before it’s revealed to the family. Have they really managed to achieve the transformation they aimed for by decluttering, organising and upcycling alone? Show less
