In this series, singer Bláithín Mhic Cana speaks to four young traditional singers from all corners of Ireland about their musical journey. In this episode, she speaks to Róise Nic Corraidh, who won Belfast’s traditional singing cup, Corn Uí Chriagáin. We hear about her youth growing up in west Belfast, and of her musical heritage handed down from her father, Dr Seán Mac Corraidh. We get an insight into the influence of the Donegal singing tradition on Róise’s music, as she now lives in Rannafast, County Donegal.
