It's 8th May 1945, VE Day.
Vera Makin is organising an evening of 'family and forgiveness', but the scars of war remain painful.
Guests include a West Indian merchant seaman, a German daughter-in-law and a son thought lost.
During the celebrations, guests are asked to list their desires from the peace.
