Back in summer, the Belladrum music festival returned to BBC Scotland after a three-year hiatus. Regular hosts Fiona MacKenzie and Niall Iain MacDonald present highlights from the festival, now a major draw on the summer circuit. In its 17th year, the boutique event takes place in the Scottish Highlands at the Belladrum Estate, the location for three nights of lively music, festival colour and intimate, unplugged performances.
This programme features all the excitement and best action from the festival, including a headline performance from disco icons Chic, fronted by the legendary guitarist and songwriter Nile Rodgers, who lit up the final night of the festival to a packed-out Garden Stage. Also, Friday night headliners The Fratellis appear with their raucous, high-energy feelgood anthemic rock. Highlights from the Grassroots stage include music legend Edwyn Collins, who brought joy to a full tent, as well as Blue Rose Code, who performed a blistering set of music that’s good for the soul.
The Lottery Winners from Leigh, Greater Manchester, perform a rare acoustic set from the studio, allowing the band’s charm to shine. A packed programme that delivers a wide bandwidth of music and conversation. Show less
