A unique and nostalgic film celebrating the remarkable career of the Welsh football legend John Toshack.
From a decade at the top as a player with Bill Shankly’s iconic Liverpool team, to unprecedented success as a manager both here and abroad, this is a fitting and warm tribute to the man known to many simply as ‘Tosh’.
In his first interview since spending two weeks on a ventilator with Covid, he also talks candidly about how close to death he came and his remarkable recovery. The film goes on to chart how 'Tosh' started off as the youngest first team player in Cardiff City’s history, and how he went on to accrue legendary status at Liverpool, where he quickly formed a potent centre forward partnership with Kevin Keegan. Leaving with a stack of winners’ medals, Toshack returned to Wales as player/manager with Swansea City, where he became the first man to take a team from the fourth division to the first in successive seasons. He went on to find success with Real Madrid and took charge of the national team twice, giving first caps to youngsters like Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.
With contributions from likes the like of Xabi Alonso, Joe Ledley and Steve Heighway, this is the definitive story of a Welsh legend. Show less
