Many of us will seek legal advice in our lifetime, and some of us will need a lawyer to represent us in court. This series follows the work of law firms in the north of England, as they guide ordinary people through extraordinary times in their lives.

Former police officer and sub-postmaster Peter stood accused of stealing £46,000 from the Post Office. It turned out Peter was part of one of the worst miscarriages of justice in modern British history. Criminal defence solicitor Denise helps keep Peter out of prison, and after his death, his wife Marion stops at nothing to clear his name.

Avid motorcyclist Maria’s life is turned upside down by a terrible accident. Personal injury compensation specialist Claire works tirelessly to get her the necessary financial support for Maria and her children. Show less
