Duration: 1 hour

First broadcast: on 6 MusicLatest broadcast: on 6 Music

James Righton, formerly of Klaxons fame, tells tales of the tracks that have shaped him.

The frontman has returned this year with a brand new solo album, 'Jim, I'm Still Here', themed around a fictional rock superstar alter-ego and inspired by the difficulties of navigating lockdown.

He first made his name as the keyboardist and joint vocalist in Klaxons, who won numerous awards including the Mercury Prize, before taking a break in 2014. He has also co-written hit records by The Chemical Brothers and Riton, as well as scoring soundtracks and contributing to Arctic Monkey's album 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino'.

Now, he's at the helm of this Indie Forever episode, talking about the music he loves by the likes of Pulp, Late of the Pier, Super Furry Animals, Liars, U.S. Girls, The Avalanches and more. Show less
