Led by Andy Roxburgh and Walter Smith, Scotland’s Under-18s squad achieved something in 1982 that no other Scotland side had done before or has since - they won a major international football tournament.

Among the players at the 1982 Uefa Under-18s European Championship in Finland were Celtic’s Paul McStay and Jim McInally, Spurs hero Ally Dick and Hearts’ Gary Mackay, youngsters who took on the best players in Europe and returned home triumphant.

However, back in Scotland, few people knew of their amazing victory, despite daily coverage of the tournament in the national newspapers. Forty years on and the team's success is largely forgotten, with only a few photographs surviving from their triumph.

Former Scotland international Pat Nevin is on a journey to find out if any of the squad remember the matches they played in as he attempts to uncover footage of the forgotten win, including a goal he scored in the final game against Czechoslovakia that he recalls as one of the best in his career.

Pat’s emotional search culminates in a gathering with the players at the Scottish Football Hall of Fame at Hampden Park, reuniting the squad for the first time in 40 years. Show less
