First broadcast: on Asian NetworkLatest broadcast: on Asian Network

Available for over a year

Sonya’s joined by Kazi Abidur Rahman, the CEO of Sunnamusk, an Arabian perfume brand based in London. Kazi and his brothers started selling perfumes at market stalls back in 2009, which has since grown into a multi-million-pound business!

Kazi and his two brothers Kazi Shafiqur and Kazi Luthfur Rahman had always wanted to set up a perfumery and finally took the leap in 2009 after they clubbed together £600 to buy raw essences from Egypt, and sold them on. They eventually got a stall in Whitechapel Market and eventually went on to host a kiosk in the Westfield shopping centre in London. They now supply their products all across the world and have an expected turnover of £10 million in 2022. Sonya finds out how the Kazi brothers created the Sunnamusk empire.

Every week on the show, Sonya asks listeners to share their 60 Second Career, which is voice note all about your career or business. This week's 60 Second Careers comes from Aman Singh, who runs Cupcake Singh along with his wife, which sells vegan cupcakes for special events and weddings. After years of wanting to bake, they took the plunge during lockdown in 2020 and have loved being able to finally run their own business! Show less
